Mitäpä sitä tässä enempää kaipaisi kuin mennyttä kesää?
Hello everyone! I'm making it real: autumn is here. A few days ago I took a trip into my cellar and carried all my autumn coats and scarves up to my apartment. I put into boxes all my summer dresses and tops and shorts and put those away. The nights are seemingly darker and the chilly wind blows as I go grocery shopping.
What else would one miss now than sweet summer?
Well luckily the tastes of summer can be preserved and put into the freezer for later use. This is exactly what my wise mother did, and now whenever I visit her I take with me a jar of blueberries and a bottle of currant juice she made for me. These are also the vital ingredients to this gorgeous smoothie that'll guarantee a quick wake-up and is quick and easy to make!
Our first ingredient in this smoothie is blueberry. Blueberries are packed with vitamins A, B and C, manganese, fibers, flavonoids, magnesium and calcium. It's been scientifically proven that blueberries can lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer!
For one big glass of smoothie I use about one dl of blueberries.
Next you'll need a little over one dl of that homemade red currant juice. (The one I use contains almost no added sugar.)
Mint leaves! I have my very own mint growing on my windowsill from which I take about five or six leaves for one smoothie. Now here's a pro tip: chew mint just whenever to get your mouth to feel like you've only just washed your teeth!
This is the part of the recipe where you can add some spirulina powder if you want to. Then just blend all together and you're ready to enjoy your nordic superfood-smoothie!
